This nature reserve, managed by Cumbria Wildlife Trust, is a haven for all sorts of wildlife. Waymarked trails provide a way to safely explore this peat bog. Stop to discover the pop-up panels which provide information on the plants and animals on show. Get a raised view over this expansive wetland landscape by climbing the steps of the lookout platform.
Follow the trails alongside the bog pools during the summer for an amazing experience as thousands of multi-coloured dragonflies fill the air.
This reserve is located adjacent to the village of Drumburgh, on the coast road between Carlisle and Bowness-on-Solway. Find the reserve by turning south off the road in the middle of the village. Follow this track about 800 metres, crossing a cattle grid, where a small car park and a Cumbria Wildlife Trust information board direct you onto the moss.
