The Solway Wetlands Landscape Partnership is made up of several organisations. Staff and volunteers from all of these partners work together to deliver a shared vision: to restore, protect and celebrate the natural habitats and heritage of the Solway Plain. The partnership employs a team of staff to co-ordinate and deliver the Landscape Conservation Action Plan:
We have 2 members of staff delivering the project:
Chris Spencer - Project Manager
Chris’s role is all about encouraging involvement and learning about the Solway area and what it has to offer. He works with schools, young people and the wider community to develop a greater understanding and enjoyment in the Solway landscape, ecology and heritage. Chris joins the team following a career in youth work, having worked in South Yorkshire, Blackburn and Cumbria. He is passionate about the outdoors and this has always been at the heart of his work with young people. When not at work he can most often be found heading of in search of adventure in his battered Land Rover loaded with canoes, boots and bikes with his faithful lurcher hound Brisley at his side.
